Invincible Girl

I don't think there is a soul out there who hasn't heard of The Sophie Lancaster Foundation, thanks to the hard work of Sophie's Mother, Sylvia, and British cosmetics brand, Illamasqua, who have helped to build the charity up and spread the powerful message against intolerance across the UK and beyond.

It's a charity that hits close to home, and will always have my support. In 2009 the charity released a short film 'Dark Angel' that was commissioned by Illamasqua, in the hopes of carrying the message further and increasing donations so that interactive workshops could be used to educate youths about tolerance.

Slowly but surely, this is becoming a reality. In November 2014 the official Primary Education Resource is going to be launched, along with a preview of the new Black Roses film for the BBC. This will be the beginning of the first Alternative Hate Crime Conference focusing on partnership working in education, police and justice.

Recently, Yorkshire based band Bad Pollyanna has released their charity single 'Invincible Girl' in aid of the Sophie Lancaster Foundation. A hauntingly beautiful song, I had to order it as soon as I possibly could along with the Invincible Girl wristband from Illamasqua.

This is a charity that deserves more recognition in my opinion, and if you are going to download a song from iTunes today, make sure it's Bad Pollyanna's Invincible Girl.

To order a physical copy of the single and an Invincible Girl wristband, please visit Illamasqua.
