There Can Be Miracles
I'm no saint when it comes to hair care. I'm a serial bleach addict, a frequent user of heated tools and in general a pretty bad hair abuser. We've all been there at one stage, where we're trying to grow our hair (for trend purposes or because we're all over the side cut phase now) and your hair feels dry, fragile and like it hates you. Probably because it does.
Now because I'll be moving house this month like the crazy hermit crab that I am, I'm a little bit strapped for cash. While I still want to reinvest in a bottle of Moroccan oil, I don't have that kind of money to spend on hair products right now, because grown up stuff like cutlery and a washing machine are more important.
I purchased some TIGI products from TK Maxx before Christmas for extra damaged hair that I'm in love with, but my hair needs some extra TLC due to its rather tatty condition. So off I went with a friend to B&M in search of some hidden gems, and holy hell did I find one.
So let's get started on the price of this product before I write a sonnet about how wonderful it is. This 200g tub cost me a mere £4.99, and after a little bit of google magic I have found that this is even better than trade prices (averaging around £6.49) and for the average joe it would cost you around £14.99.
So seeing as it's 1/3 the normal price, I didn't feel so bad about piling this bad boy all over my dried out locks. I will say it's a very thick consistency, similar to a body butter almost, and it has that lovely sweet salon product scent that I just can't get enough of. You know the one.
The instructions say that you should apply this product to freshly washed hair and leave for around 3-5 minutes. Seeing as my hair was feeling pretty destroyed, I went a little bit nuts and left it on for 45 minutes, rinsing out with cool water when I'd had enough of everyone laughing at my shower cap.
The results were unbelievable. I continued rinsing my hair for ages simply because my hair was so soft and silky, I thought that there was still product in there. It felt like touching an angel, or at the very least it felt like regular human hair and not straw. Even after giving it a decent blow dry and straighten it still had loads of movement and life, I'm not sure if my hair has ever felt better, even when I was a brunette.
I've used it a few more times since, not leaving it in as long as I did previously. While it still makes my hair feel fabulous, I think that leaving it in for as long as possible did the most good, especially after a lightening treatment if your ends are feeling a little bit fried.
I can now say with confidence that the amount my hair was snapping has been reduced greatly, it now looks and feel like real human hair and I no longer feel the urge to shave it all off and purchase a wig.
So if you're a fellow hair abuser, I can highly recommend getting your ass down to B&M to stock up on this product while stocks last.
