Danger! High Voltage!
I'm back, Glitches! So I only realised the other day that it's been a million years almost three months since I last posted, mostly because life has been getting in the way of things, and also because I discovered the joy of Show Box and having actual games to play on my PS4.
Anyone who has followed me for a long time will know that I have had a love affair with Urban Decay palettes for a very long time, and since I began working for them I have spent the last 8 months on the front lines of temptation.
The Electric palette has never been high on y list of palettes to own, and it isn't hard to understand why. This palette would look more at home in the hands of an old school raver or a regular down at cyberdog. It's taken a long time for this palette to grow on me, but over the past few weeks, whether it's from relentlessly swatching it or simply because Summer is on its way I now ow the Electric palette; and it feels good.
So the biggest difference between this palette and all of my others is obviously how neon and extreme these shades are. I won't lie, it is still an intimidating thing to look at first thing in the morning. I feel like I need to wear my sunglasses just to write this post, the colours are so distracting.
Less obvious is that this palette is in fact all pure pigments, so no eyeshadows here folks. Which means that if you don't use a decent eye primer then you're going to find that it stains your skin. Badly. Which is partially why I'm not going to be brave an post any arm swatches, also because this palette isn't exactly new so you can pretty much go anywhere on the internet if you want to see the shades individually. Instead I created a look!
I like to think that this is a more subtle way of using the electric palette where you still get some awesome impact. A little bit inspired by galaxy print because I'm still stuck in 2013, it almost looks a little more pastel than neon. I used the Naked Basics to try and blend out the edges and calm everything down, as well as some Heavy Metal Glitter to add to the galaxy effect.
