Smoke on the Water

This is probably what proves to me that I work for the best company in the cosmetics world. As a few of you super sleuths may know, the Urban Decay UK conference was held in London last Wednesday. We looked at the incredible growth of the company so far as well as hopes for the future. We also saw all of the gorgeous Christmas range coming out this year (let's just say I'm already planning on being broke this year) as well as a look at the up and coming Naked Smoky palette. After a few videos and live demonstrations, our jaws all hit the ground as we were kindly gifted our palettes.

Obviously this palette has not even been released in the USA yet, so there was no words to describe how happy and thankful everyone in the room was, and Instagram exploded more or less straight away with photos of Urbanettes with their new smoky palettes.

This is expected to be the biggest Launch from Urban Decay so far, and I'm honestly getting ready with my riot gear for when August rolls around the corner. The confirmed UK launch date has been made a little earlier and will now be launching in the UK on the 6th August 2015, so be prepared to get your palette early on as we have no idea how crazy everyone is going to get when it comes to these bad boys.

So why is this so huge? The smoky eye look is one of the most popular and most requested looks out there. It's iconic and it's versatile, meaning that there is a version of smoky out there for everyone and anyone, hence its popularity. This palette is completely different from Urban's previous "Smoked Palette" which contained a mix of opulent jewel tones as well as mattes and neutrals. I was a huge fan of that palette, but I know that it wasn't for everyone in terms of the more vibrant and super dark shades.

The Naked Smoky palette is all around very easy to use no matter how experienced you are in make up, and that is what's most appealing about this product. Literally anyone can use it to achieve their perfect level of smoky eye.

There are only three repeat shades in this palette which are 'Black Market' and 'Armor' from the original Vice palette (2012), and the shade 'Radar' from the Vice 2 palette (2013). Every other shade is completely new and never seen before, as well as being probably the best organised palette in Urban history, colours have been grouped by their beautiful finishes ranging from matte, to satin to micro-glitter.

Another perk to this palette is the new dual-ended brush included, this time one end is a cute little smudge brush which is perfecting for getting any little details added to a look as well adding a gorgeous smoulder in the lower lashes. The opposing end we have really soft crease brush which allows for seamless blending, one of the key factors in achieving a great smoky eye.

As usual the pigment with these eyeshadows is outshines all other brands due to the pigment infusion system, so they go on creamy without compromising the colour. My favourite shades in this palette are of course the gorgeous black based purple 'Smolder', because who doesn't love purple? As well as thirteen, a lovely matte cream white which has replaced my usual favourite highlight shade 'Bobby Dazzle'.

I recreated one of the looks included in the palette, as with all new Naked palettes I usually find the sheer amount of colour choice intimidating, so the guide is a nice start for those who risk applying every shade to their eyes because they just can't decide what to use first.

Overall I have no problem saying this is my favourite Naked palette, and as this is expected to be the biggest launch in Urban Decay history, I feel that I won't be the only one saying this.

This palette is due to be released in the USA tomorrow and August in the UK, so I suggest getting your name down now if you want to get your hands on this palette during the first week of launch.
